Navigating Cancer Treatment: A Patient's Perspective
I wanted to share a recent experience from my cancer treatment journey that might help others facing similar situations. While exploring treatment options, I sought advice from an accomplished and renowned physician I've known for thirty years. Now retired after spending his entire career in oncology, he's one of the most humble and caring people I've ever met. His guidance proved invaluable when I was comparing different specialty treatments. He offered this crucial insight: "Bear in mind that the doctors you speak with may have professional—and even financial—motivations influencing their recommendations." He then referred me to physicians in both specialties who proved to be not only exceptionally skilled with excellent bedside manners, but also genuinely humble in their approach.
